Almost everything says estimated
It isn't a warning and nothing has gone wrong. It means the dollar figure came from a rate rather than a receipt — and there's one box that settles it.
You open Home a few days in and there’s a small amber tag on nearly everything. Your total spend says estimated. Your trip cost says estimated. Five of the things you’ve logged say estimated. It looks like a list of problems and it is not one.
Here’s all it means. You paid in euros. The app has to show you dollars, so it converts using the trip’s rate — and a rate is a decent guess, not a receipt. Until somebody tells it what the money actually cost, it flags the figure as what it is rather than pretending to be sure.
Nothing on that list needs doing today, or at all. It’s a note to self, not a task.
When you do find out — the card statement lands, or you remember what the ATM took for those euro notes — tap Enter posted amount on the row and put in the real dollar figure. That number then wins everywhere: your share, everyone’s balances, your budget, both totals on Home. The tag comes off that row and the count on Home goes down by one.
There’s a filtered view for this on the Expenses tab, under Needs attention, which gathers the ones still guessing at a rate separately from the plans you haven’t paid yet. Two different kinds of unfinished, kept apart so you don’t have to sort them yourself.
Nobody knows what I weigh. There’s a guess in the hallway, a better guess at the curb, and a very confident guess from whoever isn’t carrying me. Then a scale settles it, and I get opened on the floor in front of a line of strangers. I have never worked out who that’s worse for — me, or the two adults kneeling beside me debating out loud whether anybody really needs a second pair of shoes.
